Communications Director Debbie Anglin on Thursday said Jackson County and Pascagoula School District officials would make a decision Friday, Aug. 29, about what to do in preparation for Tropical Storm Gustav, which is expected to become a hurricane once it enters the Gulf of Mexico by this weekend.

The storm, which already has killed about 23 people in Haiti and the Dominican Republic, is expected to reach Category 3 strength before making landfall. Right now, the project path is aimed at New Orleans.
