Memorial Service Planned for Assistant Teacher Marva Johnson

GAUTIER -- A memorial service for assistant teacher Marva "Dip" Johnson will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Telephone Road in Pascagoula.

Johnson, wife of Moss Point Deputy Police Chief Bobby Johnson, was seriously injured Oct. 8 in a vehicle wreck outside Jacksonville, Fla. She later died at Shand's Jacksonville Medical Center.

Visitation and funeral services will take place Saturday, Oct. 16, in Hattiesburg at Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Compassionate Friends of Leakesville, 7 p.m. first Tuesday each month at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1300 Mississippi St., Leakesville, MS 39451. Anyone who has lost a child, grandchild or sibling from the surrounding counties is welcome to come to the meetings. We are a bereaved parents self-help support group.
