Nebraska resident Joshua Gershon was working in South Mississippi when he lost his life during a single-vehicle wreck March 12, 2009, in Gulfport.

Media reports said Gershon, 22, was a resident of Osmond, Neb. He died of a head injury after being ejected from his pickup truck late that Thursday night, said a Harrison County official.

Josh was my ex-son-in-law (married to my daughter when they were both way too young). He and I weren't related for very long, but I loved him like a son. He was a good guy. He loved dogs, helped his widowed mother when he could, and showed great kindness and compassion to my son, who has Down Syndrome.

God bless you, Josh. The world was a better place when you were in it. You will be missed.
