United Way of Jackson and George Counties last week gave Citizens Against Needless Death in Youth one of several Community Impact Grants presented to non-profit groups.
CANDY received $943 to replace 23 car seats.
CANDY's mission is to promote through educational awareness programs activities and community service the prevention of needless death and injuries suffered by children.

The grant was presented Sept. 4 during United Way's kickoff luncheon for the 2008 fundraising campaign. The agency supports 23 other non-profits, and aims to raise $2 million this year.
