Malik Kyrie Sherrod

Malik Kyrie Sherrod, 7 , died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at his home in Columbia, S.C., among family. He was born Dec. 25, 2000, in Pascagoula.

Malik is survived by his parents, Eddie Lee Sherrod Sr. and Xavier Cabrini Sherrod; sisters Zacchia and Chamanique Sherrod; grandparents Mary Sherrod of Moss Point, Howard and Debra Cox of Pascagoula, Eddie (Barbara) Sherrod of Atlanta, Ga.; aunts and uncles Keshia (Derrick) McLaurin,
Roshonda (Diarra) Wilkerson, Kasandra Sherrod, Michael Morris, Kathy (Eric) Jackson, Sonya (Calvin) Armstrong, Janel Cox, Martina Cox, Marquita Cox, Andrian Coss, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Jan. 26 at Highway Holiness Church of Deliverance of Fayetteville, N.C. Graveside services were held Jan. 27 at Ford Cemetery in Escatawpa.

Arrangements were handled by Wiseman Funeral Home in Fayetteville and Millender's Funeral Home in Moss Point.

Compassionate Friends of Leakesville, 7 p.m. first Tuesday each month at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1300 Mississippi St., Leakesville, MS 39451. Anyone who has lost a child, grandchild or sibling from the surrounding counties is welcome to come to the meetings. We are a bereaved parents self-help support group. GriefShare, a 13-week recovery support group for those who have experienced the death of a loved one, meets at 6 p.m. each Thursday in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula. The church is located at 2710 Pascagoula St. Contact 762-5222.
Mississippi Gulf Coast Chapter of Compassionate Friends, 6:30 to 8 p.m. first Tuesday each month, meeting room at St. Martin Public Library, 15004 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi.
