TUCSON -- The American flag found in the rubble of the World Trade Center following the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York will fly during the funeral of Christina Taylor Green, according to national media reports.

The 9-year-old was born Sept. 11, 2001.

The youngest of the two children of John and Roxanna Green, she was the youngest of six people killed Jan. 8 during a political rally for U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who remains in critical condition after being shot in the head. Christina's brother, Dallas, is 11.

Jared Lee Loughner, 22, has been charged with two federal counts of murder and 3 federal counts of attempted murder on the federal employees at the rally. State charges are pending on the shooting of other residents among the 20 people shot. They had been attending the Congressman on Your Corner rally at a Safeway supermarket in Tucson, Ariz. Medical conditions of the 14 people injured varied, and some have been released from hospitals.

Christina's funeral will be held Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Tucson. President Obama will remember all of the victims today in a late afternoon service.

Firefighter Jimmy Sands left New York on Tuesday headed to Arizona with the flag, which is flown during public events across the nation, courtesy of the New York Says Thank You Foundation, according to the Arizona Republic.
