Daniel L. Battle Jr. 14, of Gulfport died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.

"A wise son maketh a glad father:

but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother."

Funeral services were held Jan. 12 at Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Gulfport.

Compassionate Friends of Leakesville, 7 p.m. first Tuesday each month at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1300 Mississippi St., Leakesville, MS 39451. Anyone who has lost a child, grandchild or sibling from the surrounding counties is welcome to come to the meetings. We are a bereaved parents self-help support group. GriefShare, a 13-week recovery support group for those who have experienced the death of a loved one, meets at 6 p.m. each Thursday in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula. The church is located at 2710 Pascagoula St. Contact 762-5222.
